Just when winter makes almost everything in the garden stop growing or go dormant, out pops this pretty white narcissus. It is very fragrant. I got this plant from my neighbor who bought it as a potted plant. She had it inside the house and when it started wilting she was going to throw it in the trash! I said, “No, if you plant it in the ground it will keep coming back .” She wasn’t interested in waiting and asked me to keep it. The next day I planted the potted bulbs in my garden. From then on, I get this pretty surprise every winter. It makes me smile when I walk by it.
