Relaxing Outdoor Rooms That Invite You to Chill Out

This weekend at the South Coast Spring Garden Show the theme was all about relaxing outdoor rooms.  Each exhibit had its own unique design using a variety of plants, garden accessories and materials.  Here are some of my favorites that caught my eye.

What a great idea to use old windows and doors to build this rustic shed. The chandelier inside is an elegant touch against the well-worn wood.

Nothing says “relax” more than comfortable seating, a bar table, and a fountain surrounded by colorful summer blooms.

For yoga enthusiasts, here is a serene outdoor yoga room using reclaimed wood for the flooring and pergola. Surrounding the space are plants in cool colors like silver, light blue, green and white to evoke that sense of calm and serenity. A multi-purpose wooden bench and table serves as a good spot to put down a music player, towel or a bottle of water. The white lighting is simple but elegant.

Old wine bottles are placed in a rack and used as a divider in this room.  I love the bright colored rug and black steel fire pit.  Notice the fun use of concrete blocks to divide the room.

Who wouldn’t like to take an afternoon nap in this corner?  That carved wood wall is a great contrast with the flimsy fabric shade.  Adding to the modern character is a mix of charcoal grey wooden deck, deep white chaise and table. Oversize white bottles add height and go well with the shells.

An afternoon tea room is something a lot of people might like to have.  As you walk to the table this bright lotus fountain greets you.

Blue and white is the cool and relaxing theme for this outdoor room.  A beautiful koi pond surrounds the space, along with a Japanese maple tree and wispy grass.  The arched pergola is made of horizontal wood slats that allow light to filter in.

After seeing these amazing outdoor rooms, I definitely came home inspired.  It made me think more to take a breath.  I hope these spaces will inspire you too.[amazon_link asins=’B015NRWTK8′ template=’ProductGrid’ store=’justsavorit-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’ce6007e2-4d81-11e8-a416-dd59a2e5dc2f’]
