Guacamole Dip

This is a delicious guacamole dip for tortilla chips.  I like using avocados that are just a little soft ripe.  I find that they have more creamy flavor.  If they are too ripe they get bitter.

Guacamole Dip

Servings 1 cup
Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes


  • 2 ripe avocados
  • ½ jalapeno pepper seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp onion finely chopped
  • ½ lime (juice only)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp cilantro chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced


  • Cut avocados in half and discard seed.
  • Squeeze juice of lime over the avocados to prevent browning.
  • In a bowl, scoop avocado with spoon making sure lime juice gets in the bowl. Mash avocados with fork.
  • Add jalapeño, onion, salt, garlic, ground pepper and cilantro. Mix well.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
